The ElecFreaks IoT:bit (EF03426) is an Internet of Things (IoT) expansion board for the micro:bit. It uses an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module that talks to the micro:bit over a serial port, so micro:bit projects can connect to Wi-Fi and send data to the cloud. It also breaks out most of the micro:bit's I/O pins as GVS headers for 3V modules such as LEDs, light sensors and servos, and adds an on-board buzzer and a real-time clock (RTC) that keeps time without power. Projects are programmed in MakeCode.
Features
- Integrated Wi-Fi, RTC and passive buzzer
- Most I/O ports broken out as GVS headers
- Separate IIC header for modules such as an OLED display or BME280
- Earphone jack
- Silk-screen labels for the main components
- 4 LEGO-compatible mounting holes
